Latest Look at the Pools at Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resorts

I enjoy visiting Disney World’s Yacht Club and Beach Club Resorts. The vibe is just right, and I appreciate various restaurants, including the Beaches & Cream Soda Shop and the Ale & Compass Restaurant.
On a recent visit, by the way, I had breakfast at Ale & Compass, and once again, it didn’t disappoint. The Crab Cake Benedict ($19.00) was delicious. The mix of substantial and tasty crab cake with poached eggs is a real breakfast treat.
While there, I was reminded that the pools at these resorts – Stormalong Bay and the Shipwreck Pool – are under renovation. Never having stayed at the Yacht or Beach Club, I’ve never had the opportunity to take a dip. But whenever I see these pools, it reminds me that a stay is in order one day. Parts of Stormalong Bay feature a sand bottom, and the entire Yacht and Beach Club swimming complex often is called the best pool(s) in Walt Disney World. When strolling by, I see why.
The renovation began in January of this year and is expected to be finished in June. Following are some pictures of where things stand now…
